The Art Park
Who says art has to hang meekly on a wall? In the Art Park you can touch, climb, crawl, play and dance in works created by the greatest contemporary artists. Dodge the water jets in Jeppe Hein’s water pavilion, climb around in Doug & Mike Starn’s giant bamboo maze and jump through Olafur Eliasson’s magical ring of mist that envelops the park in mist when the wind changes direction.
In Museum Ordrupgaard’s green surroundings you will find a unique haven that invites you to reflect, play and be creative. The historic park was lovingly tended by its founder, Henny Hansen, who took a keen interest in botany and plants. But over the years other rare trees have sprung up amongst the tree tops.
Scattered throughout the Art Park you will find playful works by prominent contemporary artists from all over the world, inviting you to let your imagination and your feet run free. All the works here are, in fact, designed to be played in, touched and climbed on, as an extension of the cosy and sensory world found elsewhere at Museum Ordrupgaard.
