Museum Ordrupgaard welcomes daycare groups, school and upper-secondary classes, and adult learners to the museum’s unique surroundings. You can visit the museum independently or book one of our dialogue-based educational programs, allowing you to get up close to the art alongside our skilled art educators.
We offer
Ordrupgaard Museum offers engaging, dialogue-based educational programs lasting approximately one hour, as well as longer art school courses.
The French Collection features an array of French master painters such as Berthe Morisot, Claude Monet, Gustave Courbet, Edgar Degas, and Paul Gauguin. In this magnificent setting, we offer French language lessons, encounters with French Impressionism, and an evocative introduction to the 19th-century transition from Romanticism through early Realism to Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements.
The Danish Collection is housed in the collectors' well-preserved home and original museum building from 1918, featuring works by artists such as Vilhelm Hammershøi, L.A. Ring, Bertha Wegmann, Johannes Larsen, C.V. Eckersberg, Christen Købke, and Peter Hansen. Encounter the great Danish Romantic painters displayed within the stately home, offering a unique opportunity to experience the art in its historic setting. Step back in time to an era of transformation; experience daily life in the collectors' home and discover traces of how Romanticism—and later the Modern Breakthrough—are reflected in the furniture collection and the paintings.
In The Art Park, you are invited to touch, climb, crawl, play, and dance amidst works created by leading contemporary artists. Dodge the jets of water in Jeppe Hein’s water pavilion, climb through Doug & Mike Starn’s giant bamboo labyrinth, and leap through Olafur Eliasson’s magical mist ring, which envelops the park in fog when the wind shifts.
